WHO meeting in UN City, Copenhagen

A one day meeting to discuss the next steps regarding the nurses and midwives biennial meeting in Athens was held in the UN City, Copenhagen on the 22nd of June 2018.

Dr. Hans Kluge, Director of the Division of Health Systems and Public Health, reported on the recent high-level meeting on Health Systems for Prosperity and Solidarity that was held in Tallinn, Estonia, and expressed his hope that the Athens meeting will turn out as impactful.

Government chief nursing officers, WHO collaborating centres and the European Forum of National Nursing and Midwifery Associations are invited to attend the meeting on the 3rd to 4th of October in Athens, Greece. The conference will give experts in nursing and midwifery a platform to demonstrate the contribution that nurses and midwives make to achieving Health 2020 goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The leading topics of the meeting will be fighting the NGOs, facing the growing lack of health workforce, and reducing the suffering due expanding the palliative care services.
