From the 18th to 20th October Romanian palliative care and hospice movement celebrated its 20th anniversary. To mark this significant effort professional caregivers all over Romania gathered in Poiana, Braşov. The meeting was put together of festive gala evening on Thursday night to recognise people who have worked hard to make the palliative care and hospice movement a success and of two-day conference on Friday and Saturday called “Giving voice for those in suffering”.

EDUPALL Consortium meets in Aachen

The 2nd consortium meeting of EDUPALL Project took place from the 11th to 13th of June 2018 in Aachen, Germany.

The overall aim of this ERASMUS Plus supported project is to develop a standardized curriculum for undergraduate medical students in palliative care. The curriculum model approved by the European Association for Palliative Care will be available in Romanian, English and German language.

WHO policy paper on a multidisciplinary post-graduate palliative care education

In 2017 PMU and EAPC launched a survey with the aim to collect information on elements of palliative care education from experts from all over Europe. The analysis revealed a high agreement regarding the existing core competencies of palliative care education. The results indicate that at post-graduate level all health care providers

WHO CC Fieldwork from April to October, 2018

Dr. Andreas Stähli is currently conducting an ethnographic fieldwork in Eastern-Europe and Central-Asian countries to enquire about the structures of post-graduate palliative care education and explore the needs for further developments. The fieldwork data will be iterative: consisting of fieldwork diary and notes, results of structural questionnaire and semi-structured interview data.

Translating International Recommendations into Undergraduate Palliative Care Curriculum
